Hey June, what a neat reminder! I love the analogy of the rear-view mirror.
My laptop is in being serviced at Future Shop, so for the past week and a half, I haven't had the RSS feeds for this blog and the LPL blog coming in to my inbox. I've missed them!
I tried to log in to the LPL Blog the other day, and it took me to something completely different. Then when I tried the truevibe blog, it took me to another one as well, so I was worried the blogs weren't there anymore.
Glad I've found them again!!
So, I apologize for not putting up the memory verse post for Oct 15th - I was a little busy that day :-) I have been memorizing still, but this past one has been a little more difficult for me.
So, my question to you is: do you want to take over this blog and use it for whatever you want, now that you're leading True Vibe? I would still like to be a part of it, but I don't think I'm the one to maintain it anymore. It would be great if some of the women in the bible study would step up and contribute as well!!
Pray about it, ok?
Anyway, I think I'll send you an email, cuz I just finished watching the first "He Is" video!

I have not posted much on here however I read faithfully and receive much by what is written. Thank you everyone. Our move to London, Ontario has been a big change from Bradford and I have been so thankful that the one constant is Jesus who never changes!
Knowing that God summons me by name comforts me. I know that He has bigger plans than what I can see or understand right now. Praying for the treasures in the dark and riches in secret places!

Hi everyone, sorry this is late. I had done a post on the 15th and then my computer decided to shut down and I lost it all and haven't been back since. My verse is the one Beth chose, this is the first time I have used her verse but I got up that morning thinking I didn't have one and when I saw hers I really like the thought Has one of His called, chosen and faithful followers.

Sorry I've been so scarce the last couple of weeks. I injured my upper back/neck on Aug 28 (actually, a place that had been bothering me for years, but the straw finally broke this camel's back) and I've been flat out in bed in awful pain for the past 2 weeks!
Today I have surgery. I will be in the hospital just a couple of days, but I'm so looking forward to the relief from constant pain. . .
What a blessing that I will be carrying God's Word into that operating room. I can recite as I'm falling asleep; I can wake up to His Word in recovery.
This was not at all the September I had planned, but I am trusting the God who will fulfill His purpose for me (Psalm 57).

On a happy note, my grandson Matthew Dean Meredith was born just a week ago (9-9-09). I've gotten to lie next to him and touch him, but I'm just crazy with anticipation to hold that lil' guy in my grandma arms!
Granddaughter Payton Jane Holmes was born Aug 7; she's gaining weight and mommy and baby are doing well, and grandma already just misses her like crazy! Alaska is so far away. . .
Son Nate's launch service for his church plant was this past Sunday, in Midlothian, VA (another far away place). There were 75 people, and he sounded so excited and exhausted! The sermons are streamed through the internet, so mama gets to "go to church" with him! The day he came all the way to OR to visit was the same day my back went out, so he got to spend much of his time sitting by my bed watching DVDs and just talking.
Thank you ladies, for your faithfulness to God, and for your love of His Word. He is good to us!

I have been doing multiple verses each time, because I didn't join in until part-way through the year. But praise God! I'm up to my 18th verse too!!

Jennifer is fast becoming one of my favourite people. She is so transparent! I love it. I related so much to her devo - I need to ask myself more often "why am I eating this?" I have been doing the study "Conversation Peace" and am on Day 3 of Week 6 - The study this morning was Deuteronomy 30:11-14 as well as Ezekiel 2:7-3:4. Both passages reference eating God’s word! I found it so amazing today’s blog devo is about desiring spiritual food! Ezekiel 3:3 says that God’s words taste “as sweet as honey”. I love honey (well, those that know me know my love for molasses!) and know that His word satisfies me and benefits others...as the study says “When Ezekiel opened his mouth, he was filled with the sweet taste of God’s words and was consequently filled with words to speak to others.”
What a blessing this devo has been.

Judi - that is such a great visual! For the past many months I have started each day by saying before I get out of bed "good morning" to my Father and then "This is the day you have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it". Yesterday I woke up and, immediately after saying that, I realized that the first part "this is the day you have made" is past tense. It hit me - my Father knows what today holds - my part is to have the right response to everything He has planned for me. This is relatively easy to say these pase few days as I lay in bed listening to the surf rolling onto the shore with thoughts of sunny weather, beach walks and bonfires! As we head out on the road tomorrow morning, I pray I will remember your illustration and my need to respond to His love with faith in my Father.

My last veraw said "My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on Your promises"

I decided I better commit some of God's promises to memory, so I can truly meditate on them!

I've already memorized Ps 103: 1-2, but I'd like to commit the whole psalm to memory, so I'll start with vv 3-5 during these next 2 wks.

"Praise the LORD, oh my soul, and all my inmost being, praise His holy name!
Praise the LORD, oh my sould, amd do not forget ANY of His benefits.

Please continue to pray for me as we get ready to move, trusting that the LORD will sell our house.
We found a house that we really love. Its quite a bit smaller than our present house, but we are trying to downsize, and it's on a beautiful lot. We put in an offer conditional on the sale of our home, and it has been accepted. So we have till Aug 23rd to sell our house.
God has been teaching me an awful lot about trust in the past few weeks. Is my trust conditional? I really struggle with that one! I say that I'm trusting Him to sell our house, but what do I mean by that? Do I mean "I am trusting God that He is going to do what we've asked Him to do"?
If that's the case, what will happen if He doesn't do what I've asked? Was my trust misplaced? And was it really trust at all, since I was dictating the outcome?
Am I trusting in the outcome, leaving God out of the equation, even though I piously say "I'm trusting Him to sell our house".
Or am I simply trusting God.....period. Leaving the outcome with Him, and saying, no matter what happens, "God, I trust YOU. You are faithful and You are good. I surrender my plans and my will to YOU."

Patti-- thank you so much for sharing your journey! What a great picture of how necessary it is for us to have "family" around us!
I was very touched by this quote. . ."if we stop thinking about what we are entitled to and start realizing that every drop of blessing or good in our lives is God’s grace…perhaps we can view our journeys just a little bit differently as we hike this year!" Entitlement can get us into such trouble. I want to cultivate a grateful heart!
