July 15th Scripture Memory Workout Verse

Time for our next verse in the Scripture Memory Workout!
For you girls doing the MM&L Bible Study, how many of you are going to memorize Phil. 4:8 (I am - it's something I need to be reminded of) , or one of the other verses that have come up in the study?
I was struck by something Beth said in her post on the LPM Blog today:
"Scripture memory alone will just make you arrogant. Lapping up those Scriptures like they are the only spring in your desert will make you different"
Let's be sure we don't just memorize, but DO the thang as well!!!

    Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.

  2. I'm not doing the ones from MM&L right now, but feeling led to memorize Psalm 103.

    Psalm 103:1-5

    Praise the LORD, On my soul
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name

    Praise the LORD, O my soul
    and forget not his benefits -

    who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,

    who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion.

  3. My verse for today is Psalm 77:14
    You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

    I just got back from my trip with my granddaughters yesterday and so have not caught up on the MM&L study yet. I had hoped to continue while I was away but it just didn't happen so I am in catch up mode!!

  7. Mildred, I love how the Message states that verse. Really gives me a picture - sun-washed and scrubbed clean from stupid sins. Sun-washed reminds me of hanging laundry on the line when I was a young girl and how fresh and clean it smelled! What a great thought for my closet I smell clean and fresh to my Lord.
